Before You Go
TRAVEL INFORMATION
Airlines
Once you have been accepted to serve at Hope Haven, you should immediately start to research air travel to Rwanda.
With international travel you should anticipate long layovers. Unless you are very adept at international travel and calculating time needed to navigate a foreign airport we recommend that you use a reputable travel agent (always check seat assignments and layover times).
Passport
We highly encourage anyone who is seriously considering serving at Hope Haven to apply for your passport immediately. Passport processing takes several weeks. If you currently have your passport be certain to check the expiration dates to confirm the effectiveness of your Passport for the duration of this program. Note: your passport date must extend six months past your date of departure from Rwanda.
Visit travel.state.gov for further information.

You will need updated immunizations to travel.
Please consult with your medical provider and visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website for recommended immunizations for Rwanda.
Visa
Travel visas are required when entering Rwanda and are usually valid for 30 days.
Details and the option to apply online can be found by visiting the website for Rwanda Directorate General of Immigration and Emigration.
