What do your prayers for your children sound like? I know what Noah’s mom has been praying for.
Last September, we introduced you to Noah. This young man is crushing it at Hope Haven Rwanda! We are so proud of him and everything he is accomplishing. His turnaround story is a model of what we see happening throughout in our community in Rwanda.
A couple months ago, I visited Noah’s home, along with one of our social workers, Henriette (pronounced “Harriet”). She shared that Noah’s mother, Donathile, heard from God that a change was coming in their family. She had a specific need that she was asking God to meet. During this season of praying and waiting, God miraculously provided what they needed!
In this case, Noah’s mother was specifically praying for a mattress for her children to sleep on. As you can see in the video, their situation is difficult. Their clothes are tattered, their tummies are often less than full and their rented home is a mud brick building without power and in need of repair.
By God’s grace, at the precise time that Donathile was praying halfway around the world, God inspired a friend of Hope Haven Rwanda to meet their specific need. The gift of mattresses was not only for Noah’s family, but for many other families in our community. Miracles abound!
As Henriette relayed the story to me at their home, I could see the joy in Donathile’s eyes. She loves Jesus, and she loves her family. On the side of one of the “Thousand Hills” of Rwanda, she is doing everything she can to provide for them.
Today, Hope Haven is energizing hundreds of Rwandan families—they have hope they have never had before! Their sons and daughters are earning a top-notch education which will propel their entire family to new heights.
You are critical to this cause. Would you please think about addressing some of the needs that our Rwandan family members face every day? We can do this with your help.
There are promises related to our generosity. God works through our gifts! “You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God” (2 Corinthians 9:11 NIV).
Maybe it’s time to ratchet up gifts we can give that will lead to eternal returns on investment.
