We recently had a celebration at Hope Haven Rwanda, DJ’d by Clinton “Clintonian” Perry, also known as “Tyrone.” Clinton is a prime example of a man who is devoting his life to service! His work with children facing cancer is astonishing, and he recently lent his skills to Hope Haven and made a remarkable impact in the lives of our community.
That is why he showed up. It wasn’t easy to travel to Rwanda, but Clinton listened to the call of God and traveled halfway around the world to distribute the hope of Jesus. And one of the most beautiful parts of this story is that he was exhilarated while doing it! I personally had a blast hanging out with Clinton, and we were surrounded by many others who were enlivened by his God-given gifts!
By God’s grace, there is incredible momentum at Hope Haven Rwanda! The last seven years have dramatically changed the landscape of Murindi, Rwanda. Every single day, more than 630 students, 70 faculty and staff members and hundreds of families are being transformed. They are discovering God’s purpose and working their way out of poverty with a renewed vision and lots of hope!
We continue to celebrate the fact that ALL of our Hope Haven Rwanda students scored among the top 3.3% in the nation on the recent national examination. Incredible! Every single student in the class, many of whom started studying under a tree seven years ago while living in one of the most vulnerable communities in Rwanda, earned a spot in the highest division—the category of the most distinguished scholars in Rwanda!
We are so grateful for servants like Clinton. They show up and they serve. That’s all it takes to make a deep impact in this neighborhood—and for the Kingdom of God!
