Community

  • Feeding Minds

Everything we harvest goes towards feeding our growing number of students. In the fields around the School, we grow more than 50 types of plants, including bananas, mangoes, avocados and lettuce.

By teaching farming techniques, we bring the work of Hope Haven full circle, giving parents the opportunity to have a stake in their child’s education – and finding dignity in paying school tuition.

  • Funding Dreams

Through a structured training process sponsored by Hope International, our Savings Groups bring together hundreds of locals to create businesses that help cover students’ school costs, including tuition and health insurance.

Since the program's inception, nearly 100 new businesses have launched in the community, ranging from sewing shops to breeding animals.

  • Fostering Support

The Family Department at Hope Haven Rwanda provides critical outreach to hundreds of working parents and vulnerable children.

Through home visits, our team - led by a Director with a Master’s in Social Work - is able to truly understand each student’s story outside of the classroom, and meet the needs that might be holding them back.

  • Facilitating Change

Local Rwandans are employed across the whole operation of Hope Haven, creating a lasting and meaningful impact on the local economy.

While the School will always be the heart of our campus, our holistic efforts throughout the community are sowing into our mission of seeing Rwandans rise and Rwanda flourish.
